Individuals who have mental, physical, or other disabilities live in every community in Iowa. There are huge barriers for people to live in the home as they wish…a basic right, under normal conditions. Using funding through Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), Family Resource Center (FRC) supports the individuals who have “waived” their entitlement to institutional care. FRC’s coordinators train and match contract service providers to each person with special needs, and also tailor-fit the activities offered to best meet each individual’s needs.
